Georgia Peach is another matte shade, with a peachy tone this is nice to add a slight wash of colour as a base to the lid, but also good for Kitties is a gorgeous pale champagne bronze, great for the inner corners and also a good all over lid colour too for a bright eyed basic look.

Top Row: Cosy Grey, Kitties, Georgia PeachĬosy Grey is a nice cool beige matte shadow great for transitioning colours, but it’s one of those which when swatched on the skin looks like nothing, it’s a colour that you really have to use to appreciate.

Some of the shades are exclusive to the palette, some are part of the permanent collection, and swatches I’ve seen of this palette side by side next to the full size originals you can see a difference in texture and pigmentation for one to the other.
MAC EYE SHADOW AMBER LIGHTS MAC
I’ve held of completing my MAC Amber Times Nine Eyeshadow review, there’s been shades that I’ve loved in this palette and shades that completely missed the mark. It has everything from mattes to shimmers and lights to darks which in my eyes made it a perfect catch all palette to take on travels. One of the reasons I liked the look of these palettes was that the shadows inside are about half size of MAC’s normal shadows – and that makes the palette completely travel friendly. I decided to go for the most neutral ‘Amber’ version.
I opted for the MAC Amber Times Nine Eyeshadow palette, but then I had the difficult decision deciding which from the collection I wanted, there’s curated palettes in different colour ways designed to compliment each other perfectly. I wanted to get something that I maybe hadn’t been eyeing, and something I might not have bought for myself otherwise. Another downfall is that I’ve read online that some of the shades aren’t as pigmented as the single shadows, so if that’s something that concerns you maybe this palette is not for you.I’ve had the MAC Amber Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette in my collection since January, I hadn’t heard of these until I was googling away deciding what to buy from MAC having gotten a gift voucher as a leaving gift from my old workplace. This makes it super compact aswell, which is necessary as I feel this will be with me everywhere. One thing that kind of shocked me about the palette is the tininess of it, the shadows are about the size of a British One Pence coin, but I very rarely hit pan on anything so ever the optimist, I can look past this. The only shade I will probably never touch is Cozy Grey, it is quite grey and the skin around my eyes has a lot of grey already in it that I wish not to emphasise! I will get much use out of the other shades too, and Pepper Please is a really good shade to create a more night time look. My skin has slight yellow undertones and this matches that so well, so good for inner corners and the brow bone. Ricepaper is another raved about shade, I’ve always known it as Essiebutton’s favourite, and it is the perfect highlight shade for my skin. Some reviews say that the Cork in this palette is sheerer than in their single shadows, which may be a problem for some, but for me it stops me from going too dark in the crease which would emphasise my dark circles.
I find it hard to find a crease colour that doesn’t look too dark but this is perfect.

Plus it’s called Kitties, how can you not love it! Cork, which is raved about to high heavens, lives up to it’s hype and is just an all round great crease colour. The standout shades for me are Kitties and Cork, Kitties is a really pretty light bronze, I love wearing it all over the lid and it has very little fallout throughout the day so I would reach for this on a daily basis. Maybe I just got a dud version but if this is one of the colours you would buy the palette for I’d reassess! Despite the lack of pigmentation the rest of the colours are great, they show up well on the lid and can be blended easily. The pigmentation of this palette in all honesty varies, most of the shades are very pigmented and appear well on the lid but the one colour which was a bit of a let down was ‘Don’t tell’, it looks so nice in the pan, however when applied all I see are sparkles, there is almost no colour behind it. I was torn between the Burgundy selection and the Amber shades but in the end I chose the palette I would get the most use out of, the Amber palette boasts such wearable shades and I like to get my money’s worth. I have an eyeshadow problem it is clear, I own so many palettes yet I keep adding to the collection! However I couldn’t resist one last palette before I put myself on a ban so when I saw the MAC x9 palettes with a 10% off discount on the Debenhams website I couldn’t not.
